NANNY, BABYSITTER & NEWBORN PROVIDERS SCREENING PROCESS

The first step in the screening process of the nannies/babysitters/newborn caregivers who apply with us is observing whether the individual has a true passion for childcare.  We look only for individuals who believe in the importance of being actively engaged in the lives of the children and babies with which they will be involved.

Interview:

All potential nannies and babysitters are required to submit an initial nanny application, have a phone interview, and have an extensive face-to-face interview. The goal of this interview is to ensure that the candidate is highly-qualified and also to learn his or her own personal philosophies on childcare and other interests and preferences. We do this so that we can make a strong match between the family and the nanny.

Reference Check:

A SoCal Nannies representative will call and verify positive relations between the potential candidate and his or her previous employers. Three previous childcare experiences are mandatory as personal references

Criminal Background Check:

Once we feel as though candidates are highly-qualified and a family wants to offer a position to one our candidates, we will run a comprehensive screening, which includes:

  • SSN Verification
  • Multi-State Criminal Database
  • Premium Sex Offender Registration Search
  • County criminal Record Verification
  • Seven-Year Standard Onsite Criminal Records Search

*A copy of a background check will be provided to the family once employed by
              the family
